Reflecting on Cameron Sword - Sink or Sail

Looking back on the experience of producing this documentary, I feel a sense of pride knowing I have showed Cameron’s life in the way I intended to from the start.

I am extremely happy with the level of my own production of the documentary. My plan came to life, showcasing Cameron in different aspects and locations in an effective way.

I also feel I exceeded my expectations when it came to interviewing Ellie Aldridge. As a university student, it can be difficult for big name interviewees to make time for journalists who are not from big broadcasters, so to get the time with Ellie I was very appreciative for.

My aims are for this documentary to reach the audience of people who are:

1) Either into sailing or 2) Young athletes who could also face challenges before becoming professional in their sport.  I hope this type of documentary can relate to these types of people.

This documentary has been a great experience and has also allowed me to take a deep dive into the mindset of athletes like Ellie and Cameron. They are so driven in their fields and it has been a real pleasure to delve into their sailing careers throughout this project. A special thank you to the two of them!
