Why Sink or Sail?

I decided to focus on the sport of sailing, and particularly a lesser-known sailor like Cameron Sword. I wanted to shine a light on what difficulties these types of athletes go through without having the limelight others do, as they get overlooked generally in the media.

With Cameron, I saw a unique opportunity to capture the life of someone who has his career path balanced on a knife edge. This type of story differs to the typical pathway athletes go through to make a name for themselves, as Cameron has a big choice to make, which is either to continue sailing or solely focus on university.

With Ellie Aldridge accompanying the story, as someone who “made it” only recently as last Summer by winning gold on her Olympic debut, she is the perfect person to use as an example for what Cameron can achieve.
